Metrology and MSA

Qlanys Metrology and MSA software is an effective tool for recording and calibrating measuring instruments, measuring devices subject to metrological regulation. It meets all requirements arising from ISO 9001, IATF 16949 standards and the standard for accreditation of calibration laboratories EN ISO IEC 17025. The methods used are in accordance with MSA 4th edition. The method of assessing the usability of measuring instruments is in accordance with VDA 5.

The "Metrology" software is supplied in four versions, including a supporting mobile application:

• Metrology Basic - The simplest version containing measuring instrument registration, planning of measuring instrument calibrations, measuring instrument dispensing, measuring instrument statistics and statistics of external calibration costs, assessing the usability of measuring instruments according to VDA 5.
• Metrology Standard - Contains measuring instrument registration, planning of calibrations, performing own (internal) measuring instrument calibrations, calibration protocols including calculation of error and expanded measurement uncertainty, analysis of linearity and stability error of the measuring instrument, measuring instrument statistics and statistics of external and internal calibration costs.
• MSA - Includes measuring instrument registration and tools for investigating the suitability of measuring instruments (MSA) - Cg, Cgk, R&R, ANOVA, BOSCH M3 (automatic machines) studies, graphic analysis, control diagram method. For attributive measuring instruments, cross-tabulation methods, signal detection, including a short method, are available.
• Metrology Professional - Includes all the functions of the standard version plus tools for measuring instrument qualification (MSA).
• Metrology application for mobile devices (optimized for Android and Windows OS) - A supporting application for mobile devices that is delivered as an extension to any version of the Metrology software. This application is used to quickly find information about a specific measuring instrument in online and offline mode - e.g. the length and end of the calibration period or the current location of the measuring instrument.

Language versions - In the METROLOGIE software, you can freely switch between the language versions CZECH, ENGLISH, in which it is delivered as standard. In total, you can switch between up to 6 language mutations.

Definition of dial lists

To facilitate work in other parts of the program, you define dial lists such as gauge categories, gauge types, product list, employees, calibration centers, calibration procedures, etc.

Gauge records

For recording and storage The "List of gauges" and "Measurement record card" are used to store the necessary data about the gauge, where in addition to basic data about the gauge, you can also find data on calibration, history of use and repairs. The measurement record card is connected to the program part of the "Calibration" module and the resulting data from the calibration process is automatically transferred to the measurement card. This includes data on the calibration result, calibration date, expiration date of calibration, protocol number, measurement uncertainty, etc. The history of external and internal calibrations is automatically recorded. If you have protocols from external calibrations in electronic form, you can attach them to the calibration record and then open the given calibration protocol directly from the program.

The program is also adapted for managing gauges according to individual production plants. When you require that employees of a given production plant have access only to gauges from the same plant.

The program also includes functions for creating your own print reports. And also functions for changing item names and texts in forms and in already predefined print reports.

Gauge usability assessment

The program provides functions for assessing the usability of gauges (determining the minimum tolerance Tmin) in relation to gauge resolution, expanded uncertainty, Gpp limit value and resolution limit. Gauge usability assessment is in accordance with VDA 5.

Calibration

Calibration is a useful tool for ensuring proper management and implementation of internal and external gauge calibrations.

The basic elements of "calibration" are:

• Calibration plan ensuring the selection of measuring instruments with expired calibration period on the required date
• Recording of monitored (calibrated) dimensions
• Actual calibration performance including calculation of error and expanded measurement uncertainty
• Display of linearity error in the entire monitored measuring instrument range
• Calibration progress and display of measuring instrument stability
• Printing of calibration protocol (possibility of defining own calibration protocols)
• Measurement dispensing

To register borrowed measuring instruments and record the history of borrowings, use the functions of the "Measurement dispensing" program part. 
Gauge loans are automatically recorded in the gauge card, giving you an immediate overview of the actual location of the gauge.

Measurement System Analysis - MSA

The Metrology Professional module contains methods for Measurement System Analysis, including atributive studies. A useful function of this part of the program is the display of completed gauge studies by product.
